In today’s world, students must prepare themselves for a wide range of college and work opportunities. All students want to lead a happy life and enjoy the good things the world has to offer. Our students will certainly be provided a quality education. This year I am working with our junior high students as they learn and master a wide range of 21st Century Skills.
In this year’s “Technology Applications” class, students will learn and master various topics associated with computers and technology.

These last few weeks of school will have students creating their "Portfolio Website". This project will require students to use every bit of their DeskTop Publishing skills to create a series of web pages. As the 6 separate web pages are created, they will be Hyper-Linked together into a website.
As the various pages are created, samples will be placed on display here throughout the next few weeks. As the "Portfolio Websites" are completed, they will be hosted and made available through the Internet. A permission form will be sent home with each student for permission to place the individual websites on the Internet.
Stay tuned for great work to come.

I wish to thank all the parents who came out to the "Student Showcase" held at the elementary school last week. It is always a pleasure to see parents involved in what their children and other students are doing throughout the schools of our district.
This week, the 6th grade technology students began working on the creation of a "Portfolio Website". This week was spent learning how to create 3 simple web pages using Microsoft Word. Once the three pages were created, students learned how "Hyperlinks" connect the pages together into a website.
Over the next few weeks, students will create a more elaborate website with about 5 or 6 pages. These pages will consist of a Home Page, a Biography Page, A Special Interest Page, a page about the things they are learning here at school. One page about this Technology Class as well as one other class of their choice. All in all, I am hoping for about 5 or 6 pages.
Stay tuned as these pages will eventually be placed on the Internet through my Class Website.
