In today’s world, students must prepare themselves for a wide range of college and work opportunities. For our students who want to lead a happy life and enjoy the good things the world has to offer, all of our students will certainly need a quality education. This year I am working with our junior high students as we learn about Computer Programming. Students in my “Coding” class will be writing and creating programs using the Python programming language. Students will also learn Block style programming for Android Phones and Tablets using the online MIT App Inventor system.
In other various courses I am teaching, students will learn a wide range of technology applications such as MS-Word, MS-Excel, hardware and software concepts along with basic video editing and production. Students will be introduced to 3D design and 3D Printing. All students in my classes will have ample opportunity to learn and practice 21st Century Skills throughout the semester and year.

As we wrap up the year, I wish to thank all my 6th Graders for a wonderful time. I know it is a little late in posting, but we are all very busy the last week or two of school as we wrap things up. Working with 6th graders this year was a fun and exciting experience. I want to thank all the parents who took the time to keep in touch and follow along through the various things we accomplished this year.
This last week of school was Flex Week. Students worked on all sorts of projects in their various classes. My 4 groups spent the week working on the "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. Students this week learned to use an On-Line tool known as Powtoons. This website had students creating a video with animated figures.
Given options of various products to create, a few students optioned to create an old fashion Concept Poster.
As a final review toward the end of the week, students competed in a few rounds of Kahoot, an On-Line game site. Winners were awarded with special certificates naming them Kahoot Winners.
