In today’s world, students must prepare themselves for a wide range of college and work opportunities. All students want to lead a happy life and enjoy the good things the world has to offer. Our students will certainly be provided a quality education. This year I am working with our junior high students as they learn and master a wide range of 21st Century Skills.

In this year’s “Technology Applications” class, students will learn and master various topics associated with computers and technology.

Week 5 (September 21, 2015)

This week our 6th and 8th graders started the week by completing a series of Mini-Posters to display around school. These Mini-Posters were created in review of our Digital Citizenship or Online Safety Unit.    A video of sample posters is available for viewing.

6th Graders began their "Computer Programmer" training by completing a series of lessons at Code.org. These activities introduce students to the Logical Thinking (Computational Thinking) skills necessary for proper coding.  Students did a great job of attempting and solving the many various challenges.

8th Graders created their first video using Windows Movie Maker.  Students took a set of pictures of everyone in the class and assembled them into a video.  This video had students leaning about Transitions, Pan and Zoom, Captions, Titles, Credits, adding Music and of course paying close attention and the the importance of Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation.

This link will direct you to my video page where you will see samples of the work created by students as well our Pep Rally.  It was a great pep rally enjoyed by all.
