In today’s world, students must prepare themselves for a wide range of college and work opportunities. All students want to lead a happy life and enjoy the good things the world has to offer. Our students will certainly be provided a quality education. This year I am working with our junior high students as they learn and master a wide range of 21st Century Skills.

In this year’s “Technology Applications” class, students will learn and master various topics associated with computers and technology.

Week 23 (February 15, 2016)

During the week of February the 15th, the 6th Graders created a series of Desktop Publishing projects.  Their were challenged and learned to create a mini poster using Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced features of the MS-Word program.  They were also challenged to use what they know about Math and English Language Arts, and to combine their core subject knowledge and understanding with the newly learned skills of Desktop Publishing.

I am very proud of all my student for the Desktop Publishing skills they were able to learn in a short period of time.

Have a great week.

Week 21 (February 8, 2016)

6th Graders just completed a series of tutorial videos relating to Digital Citizenship and Online Safety.  Upon completion of 6 lessons, students earned 2 daily grades.  A test was also administered as the final assessment out of this unit.

With FLEX DAYS this coming week, we will focus on Math and ELA Concepts.  Students will try to create 2 separate products covering 10 - 12 terms.

We will start our new "Python Programming" unit, the week of the 22nd.

8th Graders completed a video to demonstrate the understanding if camera shots and angles.  When graded and assessed, a few samples will be showcased on my video webpage.  Our weekly newscast was recorded and assembled by Mabel Rios, Emmanuel Tapia and Desirae Cubriel.

When we continue after "Flex Week", we will begin a new video project.  "Tips and Tricks for Passing STAAR".  Our goal is to create a video that will be used by all students throughout the district.
