Welcome!

In today’s world, students must prepare themselves for a wide range of college and work opportunities. For our students who want to lead a happy life and enjoy the good things the world has to offer, all of our students will certainly need a quality education. This year I am working with our junior high students as we learn about Computer Programming. Students in my “Coding” class will be writing and creating programs using the Python programming language. Students will also learn Block style programming for Android Phones and Tablets using the online MIT App Inventor system.

In other various courses I am teaching, students will learn a wide range of technology applications such as MS-Word, MS-Excel, hardware and software concepts along with basic video editing and production. Students will be introduced to 3D design and 3D Printing. All students in my classes will have ample opportunity to learn and practice 21st Century Skills throughout the semester and year.

April 24th

This past week was a busy one for the 6th graders.  After the completion of our "Computer Hardware" unit, videos were created.  The videos can be viewed through our Lytle Junior High webpage.   Click Here

The 6th Grade Computer Science class also began their training in MIT App Inventor.  On Monday, students will complete their first app started last week.

In preparation for Mr. Hendley's summer "Project Lead the Way" training, I facilitated the learning of Python and MIT App Inventor programming for his Audio/Video class.  The App Inventor training concluded with his students creating an app for our Lytle Pre-Kinder students. Samples of these apps are seen on our Junior High Webpage.  Click Here

My 8th Grade Audio/Video class has been involved with their "Introduction to Python Programming".  Upon completion of a series of programming exercises, students will create a video to showcase their work.  Stay tuned for great videos to come.

All "Computer Science" training and equipment is made possible through our "Project Lead the Way" grant.

3 Videos to watch:

The students in my Audio Video class created 2 videos from a large collection of video clips and pictures.   These students understand the process of storytelling through pictures and videos, video transitions and effects, how to create titles, ending credits, timings, captions and the importance of Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation.

8th Graders Isabella Syma and Ariatna Gonzales put forth a great effort as they worked on these projects.
