In today’s world, students must prepare themselves for a wide range of college and work opportunities. For our students who want to lead a happy life and enjoy the good things the world has to offer, all of our students will certainly need a quality education. This year I am working with our junior high students as we learn about Computer Programming. Students in my “Coding” class will be writing and creating programs using the Python programming language. Students will also learn Block style programming for Android Phones and Tablets using the online MIT App Inventor system.

In other various courses I am teaching, students will learn a wide range of technology applications such as MS-Word, MS-Excel, hardware and software concepts along with basic video editing and production. Students will be introduced to 3D design and 3D Printing. All students in my classes will have ample opportunity to learn and practice 21st Century Skills throughout the semester and year.

On the way to greatness!

Principles of Information Technology

Students in this class have been busy the last 2 - 3 weeks preparing for a major presentation as a conclusion to our "Digital Citizenship" unit .  It all began by selecting a topic for a lesson to complete at Learning.com.  Upon completion of the lesson, students began preparing for a presentation to share what was learned.  Throughout this process, students learned that preparing a professional looking presentation requires time, patience and work to ensure "Quality".

As students create Google Slides, they must pay attention to all the details that make visually appealing slides.  Writing a script to facilitate the delivery of all the facts and information they planned to share is a must.  Presentations are video recorded and students will have the opportunity to watch their own presentation and evaluate themselves.  What better way to improve presentation skills already learned.

Here are sample pictures from some videos already recorded.

Computer Science

The 7th graders have been busy creating apps using the MIT App Inventor.  From simple apps to more complex ones.  Students just completed a "2 Screen" app sharing information about Colleges and Universities.  In their next "4 Screen" app, student will be sharing information about a career of their choice.

One Button App 10 Button App

These apps for for Pre-Kinder children who may be learning about animal sounds for the first time.

 University App University App

These are apps created by students to share college or university interest.

Stay tuned for further developments.

  1. You know your activities emerge of the crowd. There is something uncommon about them. It appears to me every one of them are truly splendid! http://jointenterprisetechnologies.com
